I started this painting ten years ago, put it in my racks and just came back to it in 2009. A wonderful model who is also an actor, George, posed for me. Recently, when I wanted to finish the painting I could not locate him. So I finished it from my imagination.

I was influenced by an old Japanese woodcut of a smiling beggar next to a scowling rich man.
